Why yes it is! After a build-up including blackouts, delusions of grandeur by various political talking heads and Jay-Z marshalling the troops in KZN by making references to mental illness....the local government elections are a go-go-go! What better way to emphasize the importance of these polls than by highlighting a quote made by the main man himself while he was voting :

"Even if I go to my grave, I will wake up and come and vote....One of the manifestations of pride (in your country) is to vote for your country, and I am very happy for it." - Madiba

 

There ya go, so I don't want to hear any whining about not wanting to vote because a) you don't feel like it b) it's too much of a hassle or c) you don't like what the political parties in your area are saying. Get to the polls and make your voice heard, many people have sacrificed a great deal so the rest of us can take part in a day like today.
