The name Vusi Mona ring any bells? Cast your mind back to a different time and place when Vusi appeared before the Hefer Commission of Inquiry (Ngcukagate). Ol' Vusi oozed arrogance and you could just see he thought his testimony would be a piece of cake. Enter Kessie Naidu:

"On Thursday, under cross-examination by Naidu, Mona's case fell apart - prompting one of Ngcuka's representatives to call him a "dead man walking". Earlier, Mona told the commission he believed "off-the-record" in journalism meant one could report the information without attributing it to the source. But when asked by Naidu why Ngcuka asked the editors to put down their pens when he realised they were taking notes , Mona said, oddly, that taking notes would have resulted in comments being attributed to Ngcuka.

 

After a few exchanges with an agitated Naidu, Mona conceded that he had given the commission "a wrong reply". Such admissions were later to become the hallmark of his exchange with Naidu...."

 

My Quote of the Commission was, "Please forgive me for laughing. I am not prejudging your evidence" by Kessie Naidu to Vusi Mona. It made for great TV - there's nothing better than watching an arrogant, cocky liar being tripped up for all the world to see! Well after that debacle I thought we'd seen the last of that clown, but alas he's back!

The M&G is reporting naughty Vusi is connected with that corruption case in Mpumalanga. Oh sorry there are so many cases like that in Mpumalanga you've probably lost track, this is the case I blogged about earlier where a Scorpions boss was involved (See Who will watch the Watchers). 

 Vusi, do us all a favour and take your lying, corrupt smirk somewhere else!
