Very interesting interview with Helen Zille, the national spokesperson of the Democratic Alliance. Have a read, its definitely worth it.

her comment on the floor crossing is somewhat off the mark.

"We believe that it has not worked in the way originally intended"

It did work as originally planned in that it helped the DA get rid of the NNP. The problem is that they never looked beyond evicting the NNP and whilst they deride it they are one of probably only two parties who benefit from it.

Agreed.

Personally I find the whole floor-crossing spectacle an extremely unsavoury part of our democracy - especially since people vote for parties and not individuals.
